Still no passport!!
With only 2.5 more business days to go 'till wheels up, I'm getting..oh, say nervous...
I now have an assistant to Congresswoman Kathy Castor looking into the status of my passport. However, even she can't shed any light as to when I should expect it. All she can do is send an "email" to the proper people, but she eluded that "these people" receive ALOT of email. Great.
Plan A if not received by Saturday or if I don't receive confirmation of overnight delivery by Saturday is to drive to Miami Sunday night and be at the Regional Passport Agency for 8am Monday. Apparently I can get my passport same day there if traveling within 2 weeks.
Plan B is to drive to Ft Laud Tuesday night and catch the Spirit Air flight from Ft. Laud. to St. Thomas USVI, and then take a ferry to the BVI's. This route only requires a birth certificate
